History of Lazaat Hotel
In 2000, the Norwood Guest House and Cattery went up for auction – it was a derelict and neglected building with wild and overgrown shrubland, in need of a lot of TLC! Fortunately, the owners of Lazaat Hotel bided for the site and won! While many mistakes were made throughout the renovation process, the owners persevered and ending up establishing one of the finest venues in their beloved East Yorkshire.
Weddings at Lazaat Hotel
With a setting that is elegant, relaxing, and distinctive, Lazaat Hotel creates a wonderful retreat from daily life. Located in the East Yorkshire Hull Area, the Hotel is easily accessible and close to Beverley and Cottingham.
Inside, there are three main well-equipped spaces to host your wedding. The Pavilion Suite, for example, boasts three acres of gardens and its own private courtyard – it also has its own dedicated entrance and a private kitchen. For a sit-down meal, you can accommodate up to 320 guests with a dancefloor, 300 without a dancefloor and up to 320 for an evening buffet. With complimentary ivory drapes and flattering lighting, you can easily decorate the suite as you like.
Alternatively, you may prefer the Monsoon or Saffron Suite. Situated within the main building of the Lazaat Hotel, the Monsoon Suite comes with its own bar and dancefloor, overlooking private decking with garden space and water features to pose for photographs. Next door, in the adjoining room of the Saffron Suite, there is a smaller space that is the perfect area for a buffet or casual seating during the evening. If you’re planning a smaller wedding, you can rent this area separately for your civil ceremony too. Together, the rooms can host up to 70 guests for a sit-down meal with a dance floor and 100 without, and a maximum of 130 for an evening buffet.
Finally, there is the Imani Suite, their ‘hidden gem’. Also found in the main building, it has an abundance of light, a spacious dancefloor, and overlooks its own private courtyard area. This space can fit between 40 and 130 guests for a sit-down meal with a dancefloor or 170 without, and up to 200 guests for an evening buffet.
In the evening, there are 43 bedrooms for guests to book if they wish to rest and unwind, reminiscing on the day’s events. Each bedroom is larger than your average hotels and offers a personal touch to ensure each stay in enjoyable and comfortable.
Wedding Photography at Lazaat Hotel
There is a multitude of fantastic spots at Lazaat Hotel to capture unique and memorable wedding photographs. In front of the entrance hall, for example, I can capture wonderful photographs in front of the grand staircase, with its large glass surrounds and trees framing the shot. Most of the spaces inside also allow you to decorate according to your colour scheme and so you can choose the background you wish for your big day. You can see more of my wedding photography here.
